Anthuri Growth Equity Fund (Pty) Ltd is a private company, Registration 1998/025638/07, incorporated 29 December 1998.

The word "Anthuri" is a Khoisan name and it means Future.

A group of South African business people and professionals, US-based South North Development Initiative (SNDI) and Synergos Institute have formed a company to establish a new private equity fund.

The company has issued a Private Placing document seeking to raise further equity capital of R100 million by 31 March 2001. The founding shareholders have already contributed approximately R1.4 million by way of seed capital.

Anthuri will invest in equity in private companies located mainly in the Western Cape,South Africa,providing high potential small and medium sized businesses with medium to long term expansion capital.

Management:

Anthuri Equity Managers (Pty) Ltd, Registration 1999/024235/07,manages the fund in terms of a Fund Management Agreement, dated 1 November 2000, which includes 20% Carried Interest for the managers following return to shareholders of 100% of their capital investment, the management fees and a hurdle of 10% return on investment.

This US/SA partnership produces an optimal mix of local market knowledge and access, with international experience and expertise in private equity fund management. The team has a well-developed network of local and international contacts. It will recruit talented portfolio managers as and when needed.

The management team has clearly defined strategies to manage its identified business risk and attractive incentives to retain its fund management team.
